Moving is never easy, but getting coverage for you and your family after a move can be. If you’re planning to, or recently have moved, you may be eligible for a special enrollment period as part of a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) to get insured now. In other words, moving may allow you to change or update your insurance plan through Nevada Health Link outside of the annual open enrollment period.
As long as you submit your request for coverage no later than 60 days from the event date, you should have no issue registering after a move. But remember, taking care of your health sooner rather than later will make a big difference, so don’t wait. You can get started right now by seeing what plans you qualify for through our marketplace calculator.
While different plans will work better for different people, we’re confident that you can find your perfect plan at Nevada Health Link. We also offer in-person assistance to make sure you get the help you need.
Finally, moving isn’t the only life change that could qualify you for a special enrollment period. As part of a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), certain life events or situations, such as job loss, income change, marriage/divorce or birth/adoption of a child, may allow you to enroll in an insurance plan through Nevada Health Link outside of the annual open enrollment period.
All of our health plans exist to reduce the costs of health insurance and make sure you are covered. We’re always to help, so don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.
