That’s why, in part, November has been declared National Diabetes Month. The event is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of diabetes and help those who suffer from it learn from each other’s experiences. Whether or not you or someone you know has diabetes, now is the time to become an advocate for prevention and support.

In case you missed it, World Diabetes Day was November 14 this year. The theme was “Eyes on Diabetes” and we are encouraged to focus on promoting the importance of screening to ensure early diagnosis and reduce the risk of serious complications throughout the year.

As part of a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). In other words, certain life events or situations, such as job loss, income change, marriage/divorce or birth/adoption of a child, may allow you to enroll in an insurance plan through Nevada Health Link outside of the annual open enrollment period.
