What is Open Enrollment?

Outside the open enrollment period, you may be able to enroll in a health insurance plan if you qualify for the special enrollment period.
Who is Eligible to Participate in Open Enrollment?
Nevada Health Link’s online health insurance marketplace is available for Nevadans who don’t have health coverage through a job, Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or another source that provides qualifying health coverage, Nevada Health Link can help you get covered.
If you have job-based insurance, you can buy a plan through Nevada Health Link, but you’ll pay full price unless your employer’s insurance doesn’t meet minimum essential coverage. Most job-based plans do meet the criteria.
If you have Medicare: You can’t switch to Nevada Health Link insurance, supplement your coverage with a Marketplace plan, or buy a Nevada Health Link dental plan. Learn about Medicare.
